Below is an example of a Panacea medical aid statement. Notice the 3
columns on the right showing clearly how the amount charged is split between the
medical aid and the member. This is an example of how
split billing
has been used to allow the practice to charge it's own custom rate while matching
the medical aid's published rate, with the member paying in the difference.
The beauty of this approach is that the member can settle their portion
immediately.
Other points worth noting:
- Referral information, including the doctor's BHF number and ICD codes is shown
at the top.
- Authorization information is shown
- The treating practitioners (Gary van Wyk & Cheryl Paterson) are shown for each
treatment. BHF and HPCSA numbers can be shown where needed (e.g.
multi-disciplinary / group practices)
- Your own custom logo can be printed in the top-right corner (not shown in this
example)
- Customized, ageing sensitive messages are printed at the bottom
- The Age Analysis and messages are only printed on the last page to reduce wasted
space.
When a statement is sent by email it is actually attached to the email as a PDF
document. This has two advantages: PDF documents are small and they
cannot be modified. Click
