Datamax has been developing practice management and billing software since the
mid-eighties. We launched our eClaims switch in 1995, so we have over 18
years of experience in switching as well. Of course all that experience
would be worthless if we did not combine it with the latest technologies and
methodologies. So, before starting the construction of Panacea 7, we "went
back to the drawing board" and evaluated all available technologies. We
then selected the best, most up-to-date and appropriate technologies.
Panacea is a ".net" (pronounced "dot net") application written in C#. We
chose MySQL to power the Panacea database due to it's stability, scaleability and
cost effectiveness. (The Datamax switch has MySQL at it's core and it has
run without a hitch for many years.)
Panacea's main window is shown below. The name of the practice that is currently
open is displayed in the Window title.
Panacea can maintain multiple practices simultaneously. The Practice selector
enables you to swop between them.
One of the trends which we have followed is to display data entry items in tabs
instead of windows. This has the advantage that all open items are always
visible and cannot be obscured by other windows. This is similar to the
latest versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox.
Click on the items displayed down the left side of this page for
